Applied Research Competition

CSAW (see-SAW) is the world's most comprehensive student-run cybersecurity event. It serves as an engaging platform for experiential learning and aims to inspire students to pursue education and careers in the field of cybersecurity.

CSAW (https://www.csaw.io) features cyber competitions, workshops, and industry events. Final events are hosted by 5 global academic centers.

CSAW Europe is organized for the 9th time by Grenoble INP - Esisar and LCIS laboratory in Valence, France. Applied Research Competition aims at selecting the best cyber-security papers published by students during the previous year.

To participate, submit your already published paper to https://csaw25-eur-arc.sciencesconf.org, before September 15th. Selected finalists will be invited to present their work to CSAW'25 Europe in Grenoble-INP - Esisar, UGA in Valence, France in November 14th. A jury of industrial experts will distinguish three papers and award a prize to the presenting students.

CSAW will provide a travel and lodging grant to all finalists.

ELIGIBLE SUBMISSIONS

Eligible submissions include papers that meet the following five conditions:

 

  • The paper's topic is related to the design, application, implementation, or exploitation of security technologies.
  • The research is already being used in practice or has the potential to be used in practice.
  • The paper is published or camera-ready between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025. Both conference papers and journal papers are eligible.
  • At least one of the paper authors was a student enrolled at a university located in the european region (*) during the publishing period, 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025. Papers are still eligible for submission if the student graduated during this period, so long as the published or camera-ready paper was submitted while the author was still a student.
  • A student author is available to present the paper in person during CSAW Finals in Valence.

 

(*) European region: Armenia, the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom

 

IMPORTANT DATES

    • November 14th -- finalist presentations in Valence, France
